House Committee, UNDP Launch Digital Innovation Sprint for Nigerian Youths

In a landmark move to empower Nigeria’s next generation of innovators, the House of Representatives Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched the Digital for Youth-Led Enterprise programme — a national innovation sprint designed to equip young Nigerians with digital skills and entrepreneurial capacity.

According to a statement issued by the Committee, the initiative is anchored within the broader #CSR4Dev Initiative, described as “the Committee’s flagship development agenda focused on digital literacy, financial inclusion, and youth-led innovation.”

The programme, which is fully funded by the UNDP, is also “strategically aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.”

Scheduled to take place in Abuja from 10–14 November 2025, the five-day design thinking sprint will convene 30 youth innovators to co-create digital solutions addressing challenges in Agriculture, Health, and Education — “three sectors critical to Nigeria’s inclusive growth,” the Committee stated.

The application deadline for interested participants is 26 October 2025, and submissions are to be made via the programme’s official application link.

The House Committee further explained that the project is implemented under the International Legislative Exchange Program (ILEP) — “a strategic framework of the House Committee on CSR, designed to foster global best practices in legislative innovation, development policy, and responsible governance.”

Strategic partners in the initiative, Cyber Future Academy (CFA Ltd) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), are “advocating for digital literacy, financial inclusion, climate resilience, and youth empowerment — aligning with Nigeria’s national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
