ADC clearifies roles of Senator Usman and Hon. Saidu in Kaduna State

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has issued a statement clarifying the roles of Senator Nenadi Usman and Hon. Bashir Saidu. According to the party, they are not leaders of the ADC, but rather heads of a broader coalition of opposition forces in the state.

The ADC explained that Senator Usman and Hon. Saidu were appointed as Chairman and Co-Chairman of a coalition of opposition parties and interest groups. “The recent appointments of Senator Usman as Chairman and Hon. Saidu as Co-Chairman were made by the Coalition Partners,” the statement read.

The party emphasized that its leadership structure remains intact and unaffected by the coalition appointments. “The ADC as a political party maintains its duly elected leadership structure, which remains intact and unaffected by the appointments made by the coalition partners,” the statement said.

The ADC clarified that the coalition’s leadership is separate and distinct from its own leadership hierarchy. “These appointments are entirely separate and distinct from the leadership structure of the ADC in Kaduna State,” the party said.

The ADC defended Senator Usman’s new role, citing her position as Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party. “It is well known that the Labour Party leadership, stakeholders, and even its 2023 presidential candidate have been active participants in this collective rescue mission,” the ADC said.

The party denied reports that Senator Usman had defected to the ADC, describing such claims as “entirely false.” “The clarification became necessary following reports alleging that Senator Usman had defected to the ADC—a claim it described as entirely false,” the statement said.

The ADC reaffirmed Elder Patrick Ambut as its Chairman in Kaduna State. The party’s leadership structure remains unchanged, and Ambut continues to lead the party in the state.

The ADC’s statement aims to clarify the roles of Senator Usman and Hon. Saidu in the coalition of opposition forces. The party remains committed to its leadership structure and its mission to challenge the APC government in Kaduna State.
