Ikya leads Lobi Stars Interim Management Team

Benue state governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia has approved an Interim Management Committee to breathe life back into the state owned Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi.

A release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, made available to THE AUTHORITY NEWS in Makurdi on Wednesday said, “this Interim Management team will take over the affairs of the club pending a proper restructuring of the club”.

The Committee which is headed by Mr. Terver Ikya, retains Mr. Emmanuel Uja as the Media Director and Mr. Harry Yachi as Technical Director.

Mr. Terzungwe Chugh is to serve as Admin/Board Secretary (Ministry of Sports) while Barr. Owocho Adejoh Ogiri is a Member.

The first assignment of the Interim Management committee is to immediately register the club for the 2025/2026 NNL football season.

The Governor, according to the release, warns against distractions and urges all members to work together to achieve success and ensure the club returns to top flight football.

Lobi Stars football club, the Benue state darling team was relegated from the premiership after over 20 years in the top flight as a result of lackluster performances during the 2024/25 league season.
