IPA re-elects Dr Anioke director/member as he bags ICMC lifetime membership

The International Publishers Association IPA) has re-elected Dr.bCyril Uchenna Anioke as a Director/member of its Executive Committee.

Dr. Anioke’s re-election was announced on November 25th by IPA Secretary-General José Borghino during the 2025 General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.

The International Publishers Association (was established in 1896. Currently it comprises of105 member organizations across 84 countries in the world..

The IPA is dedicated to promoting global publishing standards, defending human rights within the industry, and collaborating with organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

It continues to be a leading advocate in combating censorship, protecting copyright, and advancing literacy worldwide.

Anioke is a seasoned journalist , is currently the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Freedom Square TV based in Enugu. He is also a Publisher cum Social analyst, snchoring programmes of public interest in Radio stations was the former National President of Nigeria Publishers Association (NPA) will serve IPA for another three years, starting from January 2026.

The parent body of Journalists in Enugu state, the NUJ has expressed delight in Dr Anioke’s re election.

In a congratulatory message , the Chairman of NUJ Enugu, Comrade Obinna Ogbuka, described Dr. Anioke as a distinguished journalist, publisher, and writer who has made significant contributions to in the media industry as the President of Nigeria Publishers Association.

He urged Anioke to continue leveraging his experience to uplift the global publishing sector.

NUJ expressed pride in Anioke’s global recognition and encouraged him to use his influence to advance publishing industry not only in Nigeria but across Africa and the world.

NUJ press statement reads, “We are happy that the world is recognising excellence. Dr. Anioke is a seasoned journalist, renowned publisher and deserved to be re-elected in the global world to impact the knowledge garnered in the field. We are not surprised that he is soaring across the globe representing NUJ Enugu State and the entire country.

“We wish him well and urge him to use his experiential to uplift the publishing industry and literally work, not only in Enugu but Nigeria, Africa and the world,”he said.

In what seems as a double honour, Dr Anioke was on Friday, November 28, decorated with a lifetime membership of the General Council of Mediation Institute in Africa, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.

The honour was bestowed on him at Abuja.
