Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Bitrus Lawrence Garki, the Mandate Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Services Secretariat (ACSS), at his residence yesterday. The visit underscored the importance of collaborative governance and highlighted the officials’ commitment to the people’s welfare.

During the warm exchange, Hon. Obika congratulated Hon. Garki on his recent marriage, expressing regret for missing the wedding festivities due to pressing legislative duties. Both officials reiterated their focus on improving the lives of FCT residents, with Hon. Obika reaffirming his pledge to pursue policies and projects that positively impact the people.
Hon. Obika’s visit is part of his efforts to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the FCT. As a lawmaker, he has been actively involved in various development initiatives, including the construction of primary healthcare centers and the renovation of schools in his constituency.
Hon. Garki, a young and dynamic Mandate Secretary, has been working to improve the delivery of services in the FCT. His appointment as Mandate Secretary was announced in September 2023, and he has since been driving initiatives to enhance governance and development in the territory.
The meeting between Hon. Obika and Hon. Garki concluded with a mutual resolve to maintain open channels of communication and work together for the sustainable development and inclusive governance of the FCT. This collaboration is expected to yield positive outcomes for the people of AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and the FCT at large.
The visit highlights the importance of bipartisan cooperation and stakeholder engagement in driving development and improving the lives of citizens.
As the legislator representing AMAC/BWARI Federal Constituency of the FCT, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika has has achieved a lot. Some of his notable works include, among which are
launching a comprehensive free medical outreach program, providing essential healthcare services to constituents, and commissioning renovated schools, like LEA Nomadic Primary School in Ushafa,
Others are advocating for scholarships through the FCT Scholarship Board, organizing training and empowerment programs for women and youths, distributing wheelchairs to persons with disabilities, promoting inclusivity, and commissioning water borehole projects, rural electrification, ICT computer laboratories, and in recognition of his efforts, in making dividend of democracy available to the people, he has was conferred with the traditional title “Hasken Fulani Bwari” (The Light of the Fulani in Bwari) and receiving an award for his humanitarian service.
