He spoke at the instance of rumour making the round that he joins the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a few days after winning the election on the platform of the opposition PDP.

The AUTHORITY reports that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared him winner after pulling the total over 22,165 votes to defeat Usman Yayaha of APC.

Kasim flayed the reports, pledging to remain in the party and work for its interest.

He described the reports as baseless and misleading, saying the rumour being circulated by desperate elements within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is nothing but cheap propaganda aimed at confusing the public.

“There is no meeting, no negotiation, no discussion, and no intention whatsoever to defect,” the Chairman-Elect stated.

He added that those spreading the falsehood are either mischief-makers or individuals politically unsettled by the clear mandate freely given to him by the electorate.

According to him, the people of Gwagwalada have spoken decisively at the polls, and no amount of rumour-mongering can alter or rewrite their democratic choice.

Kasim urged residents to disregard the unfounded reports and remain focused on the collective task ahead delivering inclusive and effective governance to the people of Gwagwalada Area Council.
