The exercise was conducted in three phases. The first phase took place at ‘NwaDavid’ Arena for Awgu, Mgbowo and Mgbidi wards. The second phase was held at Central School, Mmaku, covering Mmaku, Obeagu and Ugwue wards. Agbogugu Central Market served as the venue for the five wards in Awgu North Constituency.

In total, more than 105 individuals were sworn in, comprising Coordinators for Awgu Local Government Area and 10-member executives drawn from each of the 11 wards in the council.

Director General of the Ifediche Political Family, Evangelist Dr. Walter Madu, told supporters that the group is not an opposition platform but a pressure group within the APC committed to canvassing support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah to enable them sustain their developmental strides.

He further emphasized that the leader of the Ifediche Political Family, Mazi Dr. Ezenwa Onyirimba, is seeking election as the Federal Lawmaker representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency under the APC in the 2027 National Assembly election.

Dr Madu stated, “Our mentor and Leader,Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A.Onyirimba, is a young man who has the interest of his people at heart. He is not yet occupying any elective position but in his passion for socio infrastructural development of Greater Awgu and Capacity building, he has been attracting projects that impacts on the lives of the people.

“I assure that when he is duly elected in 2027,He will do more.

He listed some of the projects and empowerment initiatives facilitated by Dr. Onyirimba to include the ongoing ‘Train and Employ’ programme for 300 unemployed graduates from Greater Awgu at Digital Bridge Institute, Ibagwa Nike, Enugu State.

According to him, the programme will run in three batches, with the first batch of 51 participants already underway. He disclosed that beneficiaries are assured of automatic and lucrative employment upon completion of the training, while the second batch will commence thereafter.

Dr Madu further said that Dr. Onyirimba, through personal efforts, facilitated the revitalisation of 18 non-functional boreholes across Greater Awgu, attracted a Federal hospital currently under construction, and distributed fertilizers and other agricultural inputs to both male and female farmers in the area. He also cited the distribution of Christmas packages and clothing to women and party stalwarts.

A woman leader in Agbogugu corroborated Dr. Onyirimba’s generosity, stating that she benefitted from his 2025 Christmas largesse and from the clothing distributed to APC women leaders.

Also speaking, a former member of the Enugu State House of Assembly who represented Awgu South Constituency, Hon. Johnson Chkwuobasi, praised the vision behind the formation of the Ifediche Political Family and commended Mazi Dr. Onyirimba’s efforts in capacity building and infrastructural development in Greater Awgu despite not holding any elective office.

He, however, advised the group to consistently notify the broader APC leadership in Awgu Local Government Area of its programmes to prevent misunderstandings or the perception that it operates as an opposition body.

Hon. Chukwuobasi further expressed his desire to become a member of the Ifediche Political Family.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, February 14th, the group carried out a similar exercise in Aninri Local Government Area, where it inaugurated 101 officials as Coordinators and Ward executives across the 10 wards in the council.

The Director General, Dr. Walter Madu, disclosed that in the coming weeks, the group will extend its tour to Oji River, Udi and Ezeagu Local Government Areas, all within Enugu West Senatorial District.
