The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has said that the day, themed “Community Partnership; Building Trust”, will feature a week-long series of activities commencing on Monday 30th March 2026, to Tuesday 7th April, 2026.
The CP said that on April 15, 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared 7th of April as National Police Day in Nigeria to honour the sacrifices of police officers and drive institutional reforms.
While saying that the inaugural celebration was held on April 7 2025, the CP stated that the day recognizes the Force’s contributions to national security, honours fallen heroes, and fosters stronger police-community relations.
“This year’s theme, “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” reflects the Force’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the public, enhancing transparency, and building sustainable trust as the foundation for effective policing,” he stressed.
Sani-Omolori Aliyu said to ensure successful execution of the event, he has constituted a committee headed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police(Administration), ACP Abdul Dahuwa, comprising dedicated senior officers strategically selected from various divisions, departments and units.
“I have directed all 5 Area Commanders and DPOs to replicate similar activities within their respective areas of responsibility, promoting wider community engagement and participation,” the CP added.
He said that day 1 of the event, March 30, 2026, will feature Statewide environmental sanitation exercise, alongside provision of free medical services to the public, with particular focus on vulnerable groups.
Day 2, Tuesday the 31st, a national walkathon to be held across Bauchi metropolis, Area Commands, and Divisional Police Headquarters, aimed at promoting unity and strengthenening police-community relations.
Day 3, wednesday 1st April, will be for public sensitization campaigns focusing on the dangers of electoral violence and the importance of safe driving practice, to be held at the police officers’ mess and across the 5 Area Command Headquarters.
According to the CP, day 4 of the event, Thursday 2nd April, will be for honouring fallen heroes through the presentation of cheques to their families at the State Command Headquarters.
He said that the grand finale of the event, on Tuesday 7th April, will be for a ceremonial parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, featuring tactical displays by specialized units, including the PMF, K-9, EOD, and CTU, demonstrating the operational readiness of the force.
“I am, on behalf of the command, inviting community leaders, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders to join us for these auspicious activities,” the CP concluded
