A statement signed by Special Adviser (Strategy & Implementation) to the minister, Lanre Lamina, said the appointment, conveyed in a letter dated April 28, 2026, is part of efforts to strengthen communication and deepen public engagement in the education sector.
According to the Ministry, the move aligns with the Minister’s reform agenda, particularly in promoting openness and effective dissemination of information.
The statement noted that the appointment “is in line with the Minister’s strategic priorities to strengthen public engagement, enhance transparency, and ensure effective communication of key reforms and initiatives in the education sector.”
In his new role, Attah is expected to lead the Minister’s media and communication strategy, overseeing public messaging and engagement across multiple platforms.
The Ministry said his responsibilities will include managing media relations, coordinating public communications, supervising digital and social media activities, and ensuring consistency in messaging.
He will also play a critical advisory role on high-level communication strategies while supporting crisis communication efforts aimed at safeguarding the Ministry’s reputation.

Over the years, he has built a reputation as a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in broadcast journalism.
Beyond the media space, Attah has held several public service roles. He served as Chairman of the FCT Task Force on Traffic Decongestion in 2019 and later chaired the FCT Task Force on Enforcement of COVID-19 Protocols in 2020.
He was subsequently appointed Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement in the FCT Administration in November 2021.
The Ministry expressed confidence that his experience will support ongoing reforms and improve communication between the government and the public.
