NYSC Portal Crisis: Graduates face deadline as Abuja network failure persists

By Abbanobi -Eku Onyeka

Prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps are facing uncertainty over their registration as network difficulties have reportedly prevented many graduates from accessing the NYSC portal, particularly in Abuja.

The situation, according to some of the affected graduates who spoke to our reporter, has generated frustration among those hoping to complete their registration before the expiration of the exercise.

The graduates said repeated efforts to open the portal had been unsuccessful, with network failure frustrating attempts to either commence or complete the registration process.

They expressed concern that the problem could prevent some eligible graduates from registering before the reported September 13, 2026 deadline.
For the affected graduates, the challenge is not a lack of willingness to participate in the national service programme but an inability to access the online platform through which the registration is being conducted.

They consequently appealed to the relevant authorities to intervene urgently and address whatever is responsible for the network difficulty affecting access to the portal.

The graduates also urged the NYSC to consider extending the registration period, saying the additional time would ensure that no eligible graduate is denied the opportunity to register because of connectivity problems.

As of press time, efforts by our reporter to reach the NYSC authorities for comments or clarification on the development were unsuccessful.
