A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Dr. Nura Manu, has described his screening by the party as engaging and productive, saying the exercise afforded him the opportunity to articulate his vision for the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking with journalists shortly after appearing before the screening committee in Abuja, Manu said the interaction was robust, with panel members asking wide-ranging questions on his plans and capacity to govern.
“The committee engagement has been interactive. They asked a lot of questions and we provided answers to the best of our ability,” he said.
Addressing concerns about security and his proposed N100 billion fund, the aspirant clarified that the initiative is not specifically for security purposes but is aimed at boosting the state’s economy through agriculture and small-scale enterprises.
“The N100 billion I am talking about is not for security. It is a fund I intend to bring into the state to support the commercialisation of agriculture and small-scale businesses. It forms part of my three-point agenda,” Manu explained.
On the issue of consensus arrangements among aspirants, Manu dismissed any such development in the Bauchi APC, insisting that he remains fully in the race and has no plans to step down for any candidate.
“I am not aware of any consensus in Bauchi. I have been preparing for this election, and I have no intention of stepping down for anybody,” he stated.
