Drive against traffic in Anambra, get your vehicle impounded for 3 months, ATMA boss declares

The Managing Director of Anambra State Traffic Maintenance Agency(ATMA), Engr Emeka Okonkwo Konti, has warned that anyone who drives against traffic in the State will have his or her vehicle impounded for three months.

Engr Konti warned that whoever that drive against traffic and gets his vehicle impounded will not have option of fine, noting that there is need for road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations.

The MD of ATMA thanked Gov Charles Soludo for his reappointment noting that reward for hardwork is more work.

As a way of sanitizing the agency, Engr Konti said he has embarked on headcount of staffers and discovered that there are ghost workers noting that any ATMA staff who is not ready to work should exit the agency.

“We have told our operatives to ensure pictorial of offenses committed by road users and they are not expected to collect money from any offender.

“They have been told to take offenders to the office where they are expected to pay fine for their offences and get receipt for all payments, we are doing all these to ensure sanity on Anambra roads and put an end to touting among our staffers,”he said.
