Nnewi South 1 constituency: Hon Atuchukwu 2nd term bid gets a boost

The second term bid of Hon Nonso Chudi Atuchukwu, member representing Nnewi South 1 constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly yesterday got a boost as Obataifeadi Women Group with over six hundred members endorsed his aspiration.

Obataifeadi Women Group, a peculiar and special political group that engage in empowerment of members, championing the cause of women and children in Unubi, Ekwulummili, Azigbo, Osumeyi and Utuh communities that constitute Nnewi South Constituency 1.

The members of the group in their meeting on Monday declared total support for the reelection bid of Hon Atuchuolitical who they described as a good man and a promise keeper.

Speaking at the prayer meeting, the Convener of Obataifeadi Women Group, Mrs Ebere Mbanefo highlighted the roles and responsibilities of women in society noting that the work of a good woman begins at home.

She stressed the need for women to always support their husbands and children physically, spiritually and otherwise.

Mrs Mbanefo while commenting on why her group endorsed Hon Nonso Atuchukwu’s second term bid said as a matter of fact that the lawmaker has proven over the past three years to be a man of his words.

She pointed out that the members of Obataifeadi Women Group, a group registered with Nnewi South LGA and Anambra State Government have benefitted immensely from the incumbent Nnewi South 1 lawmaker.

“It’s always convenient for politicians to make promises when they are aspiring for political offices, only for them to turn their back on the people immediately after getting their mandate but Hon Atuchukwu is a different breed.

“Hon Atuchukwu has placed twenty one widows in this group on six months financial support, other members of this group and the entire constituents have good things to say about the quality representation our darling lawmaker is giving us.

“His empowerment programs are uncommon and unprecedented, youths, men and women are benefitting from his constituency projects which are spread throughout Nnewi South 1 constituency.

We have become envy of people in different other constituencies.

The leader of the group, Mrs Mbanefo led the members in a special prayer for Hon Atuchukwu.

In his speech, the lawmaker representing Nnewi South 1 constituency, Hon Nonso Atuchukwu said he decided to attend the meeting of group to notify the members of his intention to seek reelection and to thank the group for her prayers for him and their commitment to good governance.

Hon Atuchukwu who briefed the group about his unprecedented representation in the Anambra State House of Assembly assured that he would continue to strive for the betterment of his constituency..
