Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that there will be no market activities, burials or farming in Ebonyi State during the presidential election as part of efforts to ensure massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Umahi made the declaration during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in his hometown of Uburu, where he reaffirmed his unwavering support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Describing Tinubu as “the Biafra we are looking for,” the former Ebonyi State governor urged the people of the South-East to rally behind the president for the continued growth and development of the region.
“We have come to return all the APC candidates, from Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Governor Nwifuru. All APC candidates shall emerge victorious,” Umahi stated.
“During the election period, there shall be no market in Ebonyi State, no farming and no burial ceremonies. We shall demonstrate our unrepentant and unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he added.
Meanwhile, the presidential primary election was conducted across the 13 local government areas of Ebonyi State, with Tinubu emerging victorious in the exercise.
Announcing the results in Abakaliki, the state collation officer and Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, declared that Tinubu polled 207,579 votes, while his only challenger, Stanley Osiofor, scored zero votes across the state.
Nwifuru disclosed that the APC has a membership strength of 215,490 in Ebonyi State, adding that 207,579 members were accredited and participated in the voting process.
The governor described the outcome as a true and accurate reflection of the results collated from all the local government areas in the state.
