Tinubu mourns Emir of Ngazargamu, Tijjani Ibn Saleh,

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Emir of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, describing him as a revered traditional ruler whose life was dedicated to the service of his people and humanity.

The Ngazargamu Emirate Council announced on Tuesday that the monarch passed away in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness.

In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu paid tribute to the late emir, whom he described as a father, mentor and custodian of tradition.

The President said the late royal father embodied wisdom, humility, courage and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his subjects, adding that his leadership and guidance would continue to inspire the people of the emirate and beyond.

“His Royal Highness embodied wisdom, humility, courage and unwavering dedication to his subjects,” Tinubu said.

“He provided fatherly guidance and leadership that will remain a source of inspiration to the people of Gazargamu and Yobe State.”

President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the royal family, the government and people of Yobe State, as well as all subjects of the emirate.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late emir, asking that his shortcomings be forgiven and his good deeds accepted, while also praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and the people of the emirate.

The President said the passing of the traditional ruler represents a significant loss to the people of Ngazargamu and the nation, given his contributions to peace, leadership and the preservation of cultural values.
