By Enyinna Omoke, Abakaliki

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term in office.

The endorsement took place at the Pa-Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki, where party faithful, political groups, top government officials, and principal officers of government gathered from the 13 local government areas of the state to show solidarity and support.

Speaking at the event, the immediate past governor of Ebonyi State and current Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, commended the national leadership of the APC and declared that the reelection of President Tinubu was non-negotiable in Ebonyi State and the entire South-East.

Umahi said the Tinubu administration had executed numerous projects across Ebonyi State, stressing that the people of the state were committed to ensuring the President’s reelection in 2027.

According to him, continued support for Tinubu would further consolidate infrastructure development and enhance the region’s integration with the Federal Government.

In separate goodwill messages, governors and political leaders from Imo, Anambra, Enugu and other South-East states urged Ndigbo to unite and support Tinubu’s reelection.

They argued that stronger alignment with the centre would help address the long-standing marginalisation of the South-East and create more opportunities for development in the region.

Former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, formally moved the motion for the endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru for a second term, while the motion was seconded by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim.

In his address, Governor Francis Nwifuru described Tinubu as the sole candidate of the people for the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence in Ebonyi’s readiness to deliver massive votes for the APC.

He said the President had executed several impactful projects in the state, adding that the people remained grateful for the administration’s commitment to infrastructure and development.

Responding, President Tinubu expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support and mobilization by the APC in Ebonyi State.

The President, who was represented by the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, said the Federal Government had delivered numerous projects across the South-East and called on the people of Ebonyi and the region to sustain their support for the APC.
