Stakeholders from Alor community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State have visited the Anambra State Police Command over the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of a 23-year-old female student in her residence.
The delegation, which visited the command over the weekend, was led by the President-General of the community, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, alongside several red cap chiefs.
Speaking during the visit, Ojukwu commended the police for their swift response and professionalism in handling the case. He expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation and pledged the continued cooperation and support of the Alor community to ensure justice is served.
According to him, the visit was aimed at supporting the police investigation and reinforcing the community’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible for the crime are brought to justice.
During the engagement, the delegation provided useful information to assist investigators and reaffirmed the community’s readiness to collaborate closely with law enforcement authorities.
They also expressed their collective resolve to support all lawful efforts geared toward uncovering the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and ensuring the perpetrators face justice.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Ikioye Orutugu, reassured the stakeholders of the command’s determination to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing.
He urged members of the public to remain calm, avoid speculation, and provide credible information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
CP Orutugu reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring the family of the deceased, the Alor community, and the general public that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring justice is served.
