The police in Bauchi have arrested one 50-year-old Muhammadu Audu for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl in Bulkachuwa, Katagum LGA of the state.
A statement from the command’s PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, said that a report was received at the Bulkachuwa police division, from a resident that around 1700 hours of 14th June 2026, the suspect, of same address, lured his 9-year-old daughter while she was hawking soya bean cake.
The suspect allegedly took the minor to an uncompleted building with the pretext of buying from her, and had an unlawful sexual intercourse with her, resulting to sustainance of injuries in her private part.
Muhammadu Audu was said to have confessed committing the crime more than once, during interrogation.
He was said to have threatened to kill the victim with a knife if she disclosed the matter to her parents.
The victim was immediately taken to the primary health care, Bulkachuwa, while the suspect was apprehended and currently in custody.
The CP, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who reassured the public of the command’s commitment to protecting women and children across the state, ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
