Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) has promoted 547 employees and approved step increments for 579 others following the successful completion of its 2025 Performance Appraisal Exercise, underscoring its commitment to rewarding excellence and developing its workforce.

The company said the promotion of a total of 1,126 employees reflects its strategic investment in human capital as it advances its transformation into a customer-focused, high-performing electricity distribution company with Pan-African ambitions.

According to a statement signed by the Management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) on Sunday, the beneficiaries were recognised for their dedication, professionalism and outstanding contributions to the achievement of the company’s strategic goals.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AEDC, Chijioke Okwuokenye, described the exercise as another milestone in the company’s people-focused transformation agenda.

He said the organisation considers its employees as its greatest strength, noting that the promotions go beyond rewarding performance to reinforcing AEDC’s culture of merit, excellence and career development.

“Our people remain our greatest asset and the foundation upon which AEDC’s future will be built. Today’s announcement is more than a reward for performance; it is a reaffirmation of our belief that excellence should always be recognised, talent should be nurtured and hard work should create opportunities for growth,” Okwuokenye said.

He added that AEDC is fostering a work environment where continuous learning, innovation and collaboration determine career progression, while employee welfare remains a key pillar of its long-term strategy.
