Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has charged newly appointed Special Advisers and Honorary Special Advisers to regard their appointments as calls to sacrifice, accountability and service rather than privileges to be enjoyed.
Mutfwang gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the appointees at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
He said his administration regarded the mandate entrusted to it by the people of Plateau State as a solemn responsibility that must be discharged with integrity, humility, sincerity and measurable results.
“Your appointments are not merely recognitions of personal achievement; they are calls to greater responsibility, sacrifice, loyalty and accountability to the people of Plateau State,” the governor said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a Plateau State united in purpose, secure in its communities, just in its institutions and inclusive in its opportunities, with a deliberate focus on sustainable development.
According to him, achieving these objectives requires a competent and dedicated team that understands the administration’s priorities and shares its commitment to public service.
Mutfwang said the appointees were joining an administration anchored on integrity, transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, discipline and service to humanity, stressing that these values must be reflected in their daily conduct, decisions and engagement with citizens.
He urged the advisers to provide sound policy advice, strategic direction and practical solutions to the challenges of governance.
Their responsibilities, he said, would include research and policy development, coordination and implementation of government programmes, performance monitoring and evaluation, identification of emerging challenges, and strengthening communication between the government and the people.
The governor added that their recommendations must be timely, evidence-based and guided by the overriding interest of Plateau State.
