President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Dr. Mrs. Victoria Hansatu Gowon, wife of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, on her 80th birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the celebrant as a woman whose life has been defined by grace, compassion and selfless service.
The President commended Victoria Gowon for the noble roles she played over the years, particularly in supporting her husband during his tenure as Head of State, when Nigeria was going through one of its most difficult periods.
“Victoria Gowon is a woman of substance, a devoted wife, a compassionate nurse and a source of strength and inspiration to many,” Tinubu said.
He noted that she had, in her own way, contributed positively to national development and promoted values that strengthen and unite families, communities and the nation.
The President described attaining the age of 80 as a significant milestone deserving gratitude to God for His grace, preservation and blessings.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Nigeria, I warmly congratulate you on your birthday,” he said.
President Tinubu prayed that God would continue to grant the octogenarian good health, wisdom and strength, while blessing her with many more years of fulfilment, peace and happiness.
