The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of its National Vice Chairman, South South, Dr. Dan Orbih, describing his passing as a major loss to the party and Nigeria’s democratic community.
Orbih reportedly died in London after a brief illness.
In a statement issued on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the party said it received the news with “profound sadness.”
The party described Orbih as a loyal, committed and dependable member who dedicated himself to the ideals of democracy and the growth of the party.
It said his contributions to the development and stability of the PDP would remain deeply appreciated and remembered by members and supporters.
“His death is a great loss, not only to his family and loved ones, but also to the entire PDP family,” the party said.
The party directed that all its flags at national, zonal and state offices be flown at half-mast for three days in honour of the late National Vice Chairman.
The PDP extended its condolences to Orbih’s family, friends, associates and the people of the South South, praying for strength and comfort for those he left behind.
