Niger State is on the cusp of a groundbreaking transformation as it prepares to emerge as an oil-producing hub in Nigeria.

With just One Year in office, the Niger State Governor, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Umar Bago is living up to his promise to Niger State indigenes of ensuring that the state joins the elite league of oil producing status.

The activities of the state government since May 29, 2023, when Bago took over mantle of leadership speaks volume about the intention of the action governor of the state towards ensuring that Niger joins the league of high-income earners through oil production.

This endeavor is driven by the dedicated commitment of White Page International Concept Limited (WPIC), an international entity specializing in the oil and gas sector, serving as the project consultant.

The strategic partnership between WPIC and the forward-thinking leadership of Governor Muhammad Umar Bago has laid the foundation for a momentous leap in the state’s economic landscape.

Led by Engr. Yakubu Mohammed, WPIC has exhibited unwavering commitment to the success of the hydrocarbon development project in Niger State. The establishment of the Niger State Hydrocarbon and Solid Minerals Development Agency (NSHSMDA) underscores the proactive approach of the state government towards attaining oil-producing status.

The state’s openness to foreign investment underscores its dedication to harnessing resources for sustainable economic growth and development.

Comprehensive assessments of the environmental impact in areas hosting oil blocks demonstrate a conscientious approach to sustainable development and community well-being. WPIC’s proactive engagement with local communities, including awareness programs and support for local farmers, reflects a commitment to fostering positive relationships and securing community backing.

Furthermore, engagements with traditional rulers, including the esteemed Etsu Nupe, HRH, Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar, have garnered royal blessings and support for the project, highlighting the pivotal role of community leadership in driving success.

As Niger State approaches the threshold of oil-producing status, it stands poised to benefit from the 13% derivation fund allocated to oil-producing states, paving the way for enhanced revenue generation and socio-economic progress. WPIC’s innovative strategies and collaborative efforts with the state government are paving the path for a prosperous future for Niger State.
