Committee moves for development of non-oil sector in Enugu state

In line with Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to diversify the economic fortunes of Enugu state through non oil sector dsvelopment, the Enugu state committee on export promotion is strategising on how to boost export potentials of the state.

At it’s recent meeting held at Bridge waters hotel Enugu, the committee dissolved into two sub committees that will forster the realization of Governor Mbah’s vision and dream of developing the non oil sector potentials of the state.

The two sub committees were given the task of identifying farners,processors and aggregators of exportabble non oil products in Enugu state and to develop a strategy document that will enhance exportation of the non oil sector potentials available in Enugu state.

The chairman of Enugu State Committee on Export Promotion,Mr Ifeanyi Onah, who is the Permanent Secretary,Enugu State Ministry of Trade,Investment and Industry,said the two sub committees will submit there reports and findings within two months, to expedise further actions geared towards the objective of developing and improving Enugu state economy from non oil sector potentials available in the state.

The members of the two committees are drawn from organisations such as the Nigerian Shippers Council,Enugu state chaoter,Manufacturers Association of Nigeria(MAN),Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency(SMEDAN),the state Ministry of Trade,Investnents and Industry, among others.
