3 varsities confirm receipt of N639.2m from NELFUND

Three universities across the country have confirmed the receipt of a total of N639,263,040 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for disbursement to beneficiary students of the institution. 

In separate confirmation letters to NELFUND, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, received N226,931,440; Osun State University got N218,954,500; and Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State, received N193,377,100.

A letter from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, signed by the Bursar, H.S. Bodinga, on 23rd September, 2024, acknowledged the receipt of N226,931,440 for the registration fees of 2,536 students for the 2023/2024 session. The letter further expressed gratitude to NELFUND for the gesture.

Similarly, Osun State University, in a letter dated 18th September, 2024, signed by the Registrar, Oguntunde Atinuke, confirmed receiving N218,954,500 for 717 students. 

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, in a letter dated 18th September, 2024, and signed by Vice Chancellor Professor Sunday Elom, acknowledged the receipt of N193,377,100 for 1,068 students under the loan program.

The Nigerian Student Loan Scheme, established by the Federal Government, aims to alleviate financial barriers in the country’s higher education sector.
