Why Tinubu must continue in 2027 — Anigbo

……slams Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaechi’s coalition

From Maurice Okafor, Enugu

The 2007 Enugu state gubernitorial candidate of the defunct Peoples Progressives Alliance, PPA, who is now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Nnamdi  Roosevelt Anigbo, has described  President Bola Tinubu-led federal government as having performed creditably well, encouraging Nigerians to re-elect him in 2027, so he can complete his agenda for even development of Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen in Enugu, Mr Anigbo stressed that  President Tinubu’s administration cannot  be adjudged to be perfect but his administration is  committed to national development and growth of our economy.

His words, “Is Bola Tinubu perfect? No. But his administration has shown more direction, will and courage than what we saw under Buhari.

“When fuel subsidies were removed,It was Tinubu not previous leaders who had the political spine to do what was long over due despite the backlash.

“He increased allocations to states from the  savings, offering governors the resources to intervene in their local economies”.

Anigbo buttressed further that President Tinubu’s administration has started the  process of rebalancing the federation.

He stated, “From judicial reform to  efforts in revenue generation,Tinubu is moving Nigeria away from oil  dependence to innovation  and fiscal independence.

“Let Tinubu finish what he started. Let him fight the system from within.Let him stay till 2031. Not because he is flawless but because he is feared by those who  have long feasted on our silence”‘ Anigbo stated.

Reacting to the assertions of  building a coalition against President Tinubu’s re election in 2027, masterminded by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, Mr Anigbo said the trio contributed to the present socio economic problems of the country and supposed to hide their faces in shame.

Against El -Rufai,Anigbo stated, “It is a matter of public concern that someone like Nasir El Rufai continues to wield influence in Nigeria politics. As a former governor of Kaduna state, his tenure was marked by an unprecedented rise in insecurity, ethnic division and a disturbing rhetoric of impunity.

“His reported role in facilitating the influx of non state actors and militant elements into Nigeria under the guise of political strategy during the lead- up to Buhari administration is one of the darkest chapters in our nation’s recent history,” Anigbo asserted.

Against Atiku Abubakar, Anigbo claimed that Atiku:s political carrer is marred by deep allegations of corruption. That during his tenure as Vice President of Nigeria and head of privatization programme, Nigeria witnessed mass stripping of national assets, sold to cronies for peanuts.

His words, : ” Atiku represents the entrenched political aristocracy that has held Nigeria hostage for decades.A return to that model is a return to systemic looting and impunity.”

Anigbo berated Rotimi Amaechi for excluding South South and South East zones from major infrastructural projects when he held sway as minister of Transportation.

Anigbo lamented, “While rail lines were extended to Niger Republic, the Eastern Corridor, long neglected was left untouched”.

The defunct  Enugu state PPA 2007 governorship candidate, expressed optimism that the envisaged coalition against President Tinubu’s re election in 2027 will not materialise.
