One of the Ohaneze Ndigbo’s President in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr Ifeanyichukwu Obasi Nweze, has charged the newly elected leaders of the organization to prioritize fear of God, transparency, and sincerity in their leadership. Speaking after their election over the weekend, Nweze, the Principal Partner at Halleluyah Chambers emphasized that the values would enable the leaders to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to the Igbo community.
The newly elected President, Honorable Andrew Ugwu, outlined his vision for the organization. According to him, his administration will usher in a new era of prosperity and empowerment for Ndigbo in the FCT. Ugwu noted that despite Ndigbo’s significant population and investment in Abuja, they are underrepresented in government, and he aims to change this narrative.
Ugwu emphasized the need for unity and one Ohaneze, stating that his administration will work towards achieving this goal. He also highlighted the importance of adhering to Ohaneze’s laws and declarations, particularly with regards to the title of “Eze Ndigbo” and “Onyendu Nd’Igbo”. The new President promised to work towards producing an “Onyendu Nd’Igbo” in the FCT, with peace and acceptability.
The newly elected Woman Leader, Mrs Gladys Okoro, expressed her optimism about the future of Ohaneze Ndigbo in the FCT. She emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation, stating that her administration will work towards bringing all factions togethe.j
The newly elected Publicity Secretary, Chief Emeka Victor, also spoke about the need for unity and one Ohaneze. He noted that the issue of “Eze Ndigbo” in the diaspora is a major challenge facing the organization and that his administration will work towards resolving this issue and promoting one Ohaneze, one voice.
