Hundreds of residents from Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday thronged the Mosogar Civic Centre in Mosogar Town to benefit from a free medical outreach programme aimed at improving access to healthcare services in the region.
The outreach, sponsored by Senator representing the district, Ede Dafinone, catered to residents of Mosogar Kingdom, Oghara Kingdom, and Jesse Kingdom, and provided free medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and essential medications to beneficiaries.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with many residents seizing the opportunity to access healthcare services they might otherwise have been unable to afford. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the organisers, describing the initiative as timely and impactful, especially amid rising healthcare costs.
Many participants noted that the outreach not only addressed immediate health concerns but also restored hope among underserved members of the communities.
Speaking at the event, Dafinobe’s Assistant Senate Liaison Officer, Hon. Samson Ukuedejor, highlighted the importance of the initiative in reaching vulnerable populations. He reiterated the commitment of the organisers to expanding access to quality healthcare and strengthening support systems across Delta Central.
According to him, the outreach is part of ongoing efforts to improve the well-being of constituents through people-focused interventions.
Organisers also disclosed that the medical outreach would continue in other parts of the senatorial district, with the next phase scheduled to hold in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
