The Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Taraba Chapter, Hon, Moses Maihankali has stated that Governor Agbu Kefas administration’s commitment to ensure security of lives and property was not in doubt.
Maihankali, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo shortly after the security consultative summit in the state, said the governor deserves commendation by all well meaning residents in Taraba.
The ALGON boss in his assessment described Governor Kefas as truly “the security Amazon” while also applauding his team – the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and committee chairman of the security summit Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Barr. Gebon Kataps, Chief of Staff (COS), Dr. Jeji Williams, traditional rulers and the other prominent stakeholders for quality representations.
The ALGON chairman, who is also the Executive Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Council, said the summit was timely and came at the period when security is needed most.
Maihankali said for Governor Kefas to initiate such a summit when Nigeria is confronted with security challenges shows his administration’s readiness to continue to tackle all manners of threats by criminal elements in the State.
He emphasized that the present administration was not taking cases of security for granted, pointing out that since the assumption of Gov. Kefas in office in 2023 Taraba residents have been enjoying stable peace compared to other previous administrations.
Maihakali further stressed that residents can now bear witness as they go about their normal business, especially farmers and commuters without fear or panic in the state.
Speaking on other sundry matters and developmental strides of Gov. Kefas, the council boss applauded the state chief executive on peaceful conduct of all political parties’ primaries in the state which he said ended peacefully without rancor.
He noted that the Governor’s disposition and importance attached to security was testament to successful conduct of all party’s primaries in the state, as according to him, no political party in Taraba State witnessed bloodshed during primaries.
He further stated that the legacy Gov. Kefas will be leaving behind at the end of his 8 years stewardship in the state will speak volumes of his administration.
Maihankali urged residents of the state to continue to support the Governor in his quest to make Taraba better than he met it in 2023.
