The political group ‘PBAT Door-to-Door Movement’ has commenced mobilisation in Katsina State to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The Grand Patron of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, disclosed this in Katsina during the official inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in the state.
Tompolo, represented by Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Limited, urged the people of Katsina to reciprocate the confidence and trust, he said, Tinubu has demonstrated in the state by supporting his administration and re-election in 2027.
He said Tinubu’s relationship with Katsina was built on “trust, confidence and inclusion,” noting that the President has shown this by appointing several sons and daughters of the state into strategic positions in his administration.
Among those he listed are the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Kabir Masari; Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqa Rabe Darma; Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; and Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Idris Muhammed Bugaje.
Others, according to him, include the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz; Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Senator Ibrahim Ida; Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority, former Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema; Chairman of the TETFund Board of Trustees, former Governor Aminu Bello Masari; and Chairman of the Nigerian Agricultural Land Development Authority, Senator Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya.
According to him, the appointments demonstrates that the President views Katsina beyond its voting strength, describing the state as a reservoir of talent, experience and capacity deserving representation at the highest levels of government.
“These are not ceremonial appointments. They are positions of responsibility, authority and national consequence,” he said.
He reminded the people of the state that Tinubu’s confidence in Katsina dates back to the state’s contribution to the political journey that culminated in the election of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
He said the movement would take its campaign to the grassroots, urging its members to engage voters from wards and communities to markets and households.
“As we approach 2027, Katsina has an opportunity to reciprocate that confidence. Our message as the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is therefore simple: Go from door to door, from ward to ward, from community to community, from market to market, from household to household,” he said.
The Grand Patron also pointed to the Federal Government’s economic reforms, particularly the move towards greater financial autonomy for local governments, saying the policy would create opportunities for resources to reach communities directly.
“Katsina has been trusted. Let Katsina return that trust. Katsina has been recognised. Let Katsina recognise that confidence. Katsina has been given a seat at the table. Let Katsina remain at the table.
“In 2027, let us stand together for continuity, stability and progress. Let Katsina lead the way. Vote continuity. Vote confidence. Vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Governor Dikko Umar Radda, assured President Tinubu of the state’s overwhelming support for his re-election, describing Katsina as an APC state.
Radda said the state has maintained a longstanding political relationship with Tinubu and the Yoruba political establishment, dating back several decades.
He recalled Tinubu’s relationship with the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, describing the former military officer as one of the greatest politicians of his time, and said the relationship continued through his younger brother, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
The governor also commended Tompolo for choosing Katsina as the first state for the launch of the Door-to-Door Movement’s initiative.
“Katsina State is an APC state. Katsina State is a state where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Insha Allah, will have a landslide victory in Katsina State, God willing, in 2027.
“The President came with a lot of reforms which enabled the state governors to do a lot of good work for the people of our dear states. So we should remain ever grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I want you to be rest assured that Katsina State is your state and we will not let you down. We will support you, our people will support you,” Radda said.
Speaking earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, said the movement was established to mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu’s re-election by campaigning door-to-door across the country.
Asuku described PBAT Door-to-Door as “a grassroots movement to support the President,” adding that “every door matters and everybody in Katsina matters.”
He urged the coordinators in the 34 local government areas to move from village to village and community to community to campaign for Tinubu’s re-election by highlighting what he described as the President’s achievements and longstanding relationship with Katsina.
On his part, the Katsina State Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Alhaji Faisal Kaita, assured that coordinators across the 34 local government areas would work assiduously towards Tinubu’s re-election.
