The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) is set to engage stakeholders and members of the public on its contributions to Nigeria’s tertiary education sector at its second National Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Abuja.
The meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for the Fund to explain its operations, highlight its achievements and strengthen public understanding of how it supports the development of tertiary education institutions across the country.
The event, being organised by TETFund’s Board of Trustees, chaired by former Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, is part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability and greater public participation in the activities of the agency.
In a statement issued by TETFund’s Director of Public Affairs, Abdulmumin Oniyangi, the Fund said the town hall meeting aligns with its commitment to deepening stakeholder engagement and ensuring that Nigerians have a better understanding of its mandate and interventions in the education sector.
The meeting is expected to attract policymakers, academics, students, civil society organisations and other members of the public, who will have the opportunity to interact with the Fund’s leadership.
Discussions will focus on TETFund’s mandate, operations and contributions to tertiary education development, with participants expected to raise questions and seek clarification on issues relating to the agency’s activities.
The engagement also offers the Fund an opportunity to communicate its role in supporting tertiary institutions and listen to stakeholders’ views on its operations and impact.
TETFund has urged stakeholders in the education sector and members of the public to participate in the meeting, emphasising the importance of public engagement in promoting transparency and accountability in the management of tertiary education funding.
