The Katsina state government has said that the Dialogue and Peace Process entered with the repentant bandits has not collapse.
“The insecurity problem in Katsina State has reduced by at least 70% as people are now free to go about their normal business,” he said.
Masari stated this during an interview with newsmen on Friday in Katsina.
According to him, only 20% of the armed bandit had refused to join the Peace process.
“In August 2019, the governor and his lieutenants entered the forest and negotiated with the bandits on the need to embrace peace and many gang leaders agreed and dropped their guns.”
“Only two gang leaders Dangote and Alhaji Karami refused to come to the negotiating table with the government.”
“The few armed bandits disturbing people in Batsari and Jibia Local Government areas are the boys of Dangote and Alhaji Karami,” he said.
Governor Masari said that the government had sent a warning to those two gang leaders to surrender and stop molesting people or face the music.
Masari said that the government was ready to deal decisively with any criminals that think he or she is above the law.
He called on the members of the public to provide information about the activities of informers who usually bandits to kidnap innocent people in the cities or towns in the state.
