In efforts towards curbing the spread of COVID 19 in Benue state, the state’s Action Committee on the Disease (COVID 19) has concluded arrangements for the massive distribution of face masks next Monday.
Speaking on a Radio Benue Personality Programme “View Point”, the Secretary of the Committee and Commissioner for Health, Dr Sunday Ongbabo, said the face masks were produced in line with approved standards.
The Commissioner informed further that face masks would be distributed in phases and appealed to the citizens for understanding.
He added that the committee would continue to ensure that those coming into Benue from high risk areas were tested and isolated as the case may be and asked law enforcement agents and the people to continue to be vigilant.
On his part, during, Commissioner for Finance, Mr David Olofu, said the state government has received N500 million grant from the World Bank for the development of critical infrastructure.
He assured that the money would be utilized for the purpose for which they were meant for.
