The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite has commended the author of a new book titled: “Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector”, Deinsam Dan Ogan, saying his work will greatly enhance the development of the solid minerals sector.
The Minister made this known during the presentation of the book at the headquarters of the ministry in Abuja yesterday.
“Having your ideas put on paper to come out with a book that is aimed at enhancing the knowledge about the sector in this way is a bold step that must be commended.
“And I recommend the book for everyone who has mining at heart,” he said.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Minister of State, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah who congratulated the author said the literature wouldn’t have come at a better time than now that government is in the process of diversifying the economy away from oil through the mining sector.
Ogan, 39, a geologist by profession, joined the Civil Service after receiving the nation’s gratitude as a national awardee with a Presidential handshake in recognition of his outstanding performance during his NYSC service year, and has been with the Mining Cadastre Office under the ministry.
Speaking to newsmen after the presentation, Ogan said, “The book has been crafted in the way that it will attract investors, especially from the international community; that is why it is online for any one to download freely.”
