Encomiums as Enugu Federal Character Commissioner, Ginika bags traditional title

Ambassador Mrs Ginika Florence Tor, who is currently the Enugu state federal commissioner at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), has been decorated with the traditional title of ‘OmaluegwuOka1 of Awka” along other prominent sons of Igbo land, as part of activities that marked the 23rd Coronation anniversary cum biennial  “Egwu Uzu(Ofala)festival of Dr Gibson Nwosu, as the Obi of Awka Uzu II, in Anambra state..

She was considered fit for the elevated title of Awka kingdom based on her humanitarian services to the society socio politically and economically. Hon Chief Mrs Ginika Tor is an accomplished Media practioner and publisher of accolade Magazine. She also dealt on event packaging and owns a non govern mental organization (NGO) through which she impacts on the poor and less privileged iñ the society.,before venturing into politics.

Though married to Chief Henry Ajir Tor from North Central axis of the country,Ambassador Mrs Ginika Tor in her struggle to contribute in building bridges of unity in Nigeria, joined in the politics of her home state of Enugu state,to help strengthen the tide of democratic process in the coal city.

To  an extent,She emerged as the deputy governorship candidate of a faction of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the 2019  Enugu state governorship election. Based on her positive contribution to Enugu state APC,within short a period she was appointed as the commissioner representing the state in the Federal Character Commission, Abuja.

Amidst her elevation and posting to Abuja,She did not turn blind eye in her humanitarian services and care for the rural poor,irrespective of party of affiliation. To that extent,His Royal Majesty,Dr Gibson Nwosu,the Eze Uzu 11 of Awka ancient kingdom in Anambra state and his entire cabinet,considered her fit for the enviable traditional title of “OmaluegwuOku 1 of Awka (literally meaning one who knows how to dance in the fire).

Hon Chief Mrs Tor received encomiums from People of all walks of life and categories as a mark of honour.  Governor Bello who described Ambassador Mrs Ginika Tor as a sister and a woman of incredible strength and accomplishments, said her chieftaincy title as a befitting honour on a recipient who deserves it.

His words,” Her efforts in  giving aides to the poor and vulnerable are many and commendable. This chieftaincy title is therefore a befitting honour upon a recipient who totally deserves it”.

Governor Bello while thanking Dr Gibson Nwosu,the Obi of Awka Eze Uzu II for the coronation of Ambassador Mrs Ginika Tor,appraised the rich culture and tradition of the Igbo nation,pointing that Nigeria and the Igbo tribe need each other to maximize the nation’s potentials.

He stated,” I am great lover of Ndigbo arising from my personal and numerous experiences of friendship and mutual growth with many of them over the course of my life. I am persuaded now more than ever,that Nigeria and Ndigbo need each other for both to achieve their full potentials. This is why I am resolute that Nigeria will be a nation where every tribe enjoys a full and equal sense of belonging”

“I thank Eze Uzu II and Ndi Awka for honouring my friend and sister while wishing the kingdom a joyous celebration of his Royal Majesty’s 23rd coronation anniversary and biennial Egwu Uzu(Ofala) festival”.

The Deputy minority leader,House of Representatives, Hon Toby Okechukwu, representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency in the National Assembly extolled Hon(Mrs)Ginika Tor as a great achiever and her coronation as an attestation of her accomplishments.

Hon Okechukwu stated,” This coronation is an attestation of your great accomplishments and is well deserving. My family and constituents are glad to be associated with you on this occasion and wish you greater achievements in life”.

Encomiums poured on the Enugu state federal commissioner at Federal Character Commission, Ambassador Mrs Ginika Tor, during her coronation as “OmaluegwuOku 1 of Awka also came from the wife of IMO state governor, Barr Mrs Chroma Uzodinma. She described her as fully committed in rendering services to humanity.

Mrs Uzodinma said of her,” Having watched you show great leadership actions with significant results in your years of service to our great nation, I will not only commend you for all you have been able to accomplish, but I know without doubt that you will continue to perform excellently in the responsibilities attached to your new title”.

The Honourable Minister of Women affairs, Same Paullen Fallen in her good will message also extolled Hon Mrs Ginika Tor.

Same Fallen said,”Your dedication and outstanding service is an indication of your potentials and capabilities which has in turn translated to this conferment and I wish you the best of luck as you continue to fight for the rights of Nigerians. As you carry on this remarkable elevation, I trust you will drive positive strategies that would bring about constructive changes for women  and the vulnerable in the country,most especially “.

Encomiums on Hon Mrs (Ginika) Tor  on the occasion of her coronation also came from her colleagues at the Federal Character Commission and from foreign missions and many Nigerians in diaspora.

Hon Abdulahi K.Bawa,Rev.Ibeabuchi UCHE Ujadike, Obonganwan Dorah D Ebong,the Awka Ibom Federal Commissioner, Her colleagues from Abia and Benue states,Hon Henry Ogbulogo and Mr Silver Mackpath, ,Engr  UCHE Diogu and Hon Moses 0.Anaughe, were among Federal commissioners and top officials of the commission who sent in their goodwill messages in honour of their colleague,Hon Mrs Ginika Tor,as she was conferred with honorary chieftaincy title of ” OmaluegwuOku 1 of Awka,Anambra state.

The Nigerian ambassador to Poland,General G.O.Ugwu(rtd),Mr Henry and Laurie Sosse,Presidents Southern Barter club,USA, Mazi Gregory Otto,also based in USA were among diasporas who felicitated with Ambassador Mrs Ginika Tor at her coronation.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Women wing, through Hon Stella Okotete,Member Caretaker/Extra ordinary Conversion Planning Committee felicitated with Mrs Tor at her coronation.

Hon (Mrs) Ginika Tor was coronated along with chief Prince Arthur Eze, the Chief Executive Officer of Oranto Petroleum, Hon Senator Chris Ngige,the Minister of Labour and employment, Chief Victor Ike Oye,APGA National Chairman, Prince Tony Nwonye, among others, at the crowded event held at Awka Civic Center,on Thursday,December 30,2021.
