Oshiomhole: Police take over APC secretariat in Abuja

Policemen in over four pick-up patrol vehicles stormed the and took over the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, following a court judgment suspending the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, on Wednesday.

An FCT high court gave an order restraining Comrade Adams Oshomole from parading himself as the National Chairman of the ruling, All Progressives Congress, APC.

In his ruling Hon. Justice Senchi Z. Danlami gave an order of interlocutory injunction restraining Comrade Adams Oshiomhole from parading himself as the National Chairman of the APC, pending the hearing and determination of the substance suite.

Comrade Adams Oshomole has been in a battle to save his seat lately, as he was recently suspended by his party at his Ward, Local Government and State levels.

The ruling All Progressives Congress, has in recent days been going through a lot of turmoil. after the supreme court ruled the party out idf the elections in Zamfara and Rivers States

The APC has been battling with internal Unity, especially in its NWC, with some NWC members accusing him of high handedness in the affaires of the party

These allegations have fuelled Pro and Anti Oshiomhole rallies around the country. The last rally in Abuja was reported to have turned out violent as Pro and Anti Oshiomhole supporters collided in front of the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, leading to several interventions by the security agencies, who have came in to restore peace

… As Ajimobi, Bulama, Chukwuma join NWC

Amidst crisis and protest, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the nomination of former Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, Arch. Waziri Bulama and Paul Chukwuma as the Party’s Deputy national Chairman South, Acting National Secretary and National Auditor respectively.

A statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary Secretary, Lanre Issa – Onilu, said the decision was reached on January 14, 2020 during the meeting of the NWC at the party’s National Secretariat.

“Following the resignation of H.E. Mai Mala Buni as the Party’s National Secretary in May 2019 prior to his election as the Governor of Yobe State, the party subsequently gave notice for a replacement from the zone.

The NWC has also approved the nominations of Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the Deputy National Chairman (South) and Mr. Paul Chukwuma as the National Auditor following nominations from the respective zones.” the APC statement read.
