COVID-19: PHED promises steady power supply

The Chief Executive Officer, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, Dr. Henry Ajagbawa has assured its customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers states that there will be a steady power supply during the stay at home period arising from COVID-19 pandemic as directed by states’ Government.

Dr. Ajagbawa who gave the assurance during a strategic meeting with the management team and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt, said the power supply received from the National Grid shall be distributed accordingly.

He affirmed the readiness of the essential workers to fix any fault that may impede power supply to customers during the stay at home adding that adequate logistics had been put in place with a view to achieving safe and seamless service delivery.

In a statement signed by John Onyi, Manager, Corporate Communications of the company, the PHED boss emphasised the need for maintaining the social distancing aimed at keeping both the employees and customers safe especially “at this time of COVID-19 pandemic”.He also echoed that the employees interfacing staff have been fully equipped with safety tools.

“We want to re-assure our customers as a customer-centric organization that PHED will continue to distribute power as received from the grid.

“Our technical crew will be on ground to fix any fault that may occur in order to ensure that it is distributed accordingly”, Dr. Ajagbawa said.
