Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has urged Muslim faithful in the state to fervently pray for God’s intervention to end the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic which has continued to ravage the world during the month of Ramadan.
Ganduje also appealed to Kano residents to accept government’s lockdown policy on food faith as it is designed to protect lives a d ensure good health of the populace.
He reassured that his administration will continue to introduce better strategies of fighting the dreaded virus until it is roundly defeated, while pointing out the need for all to seek the face of God at this critical time of the world’s history.
“On behalf of the government of Kano state, I am praying that, may Allah accept our worship in this Holy Month of Ramadhan. I urge people to live by the good teachings of the Holy Month, of piety, fear and love of Allah and intact keeping of brotherhood,” Ganduje stated.
He also admonished the people to abide by the lockdown protocol, “as the lockdown is in place to safeguard the health of our people. By way of putting a stop to further spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the state and the nation in general. Which will naturally give way for global containment of the disease, with the help of the Creator, Allah.”
Ganduje directed that, all advices given by health workers must be abide by for all efforts against the disease to yield positive result, adding that, “people should wash their hands regularly with soap and running water. Use of hand sanitizer is equally important, alongside maintaining social distancing.”
