COVID-19: Three Patients Flee In Kano, As Kano Records Two More Deaths

Three patients who tested positive to the novel Corona Virus have escaped from their homes in Kano to avoid being relocated to Isolation Centre.

The State Coordinator, Rapid Response on Covid-19, Dr. Tijjani Hussaini confirmed this while speaking during a programme in a local radio in the ancient commercial city.

According to him, the patients have switched off their phones and their homes are deserted.
The coordinator said they have informed the security agencies about the development to launch manhunt on the persons.

The AUTHORITY gathered that the patients were said to have fled immediately when they got wind of the outcome of their test which turn out to be positive.

However, as at the time of filing in this report, Kano has recorded 77 confirmed cases, as those in the Isolation Centres are responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, Kano State Ministry of Health confirmed the death of two COVID-19 patients in the state, bringing the total deaths to three.

This was announced by the Ministry on its verified twitter handle on Monday.

According to the Ministry, so far the state has 77 confirmed cases of Covid-19, while no discharge was made yet.

“As at 12:15pm, 27th, April, 2020, Kano State has recorded an additional two deaths of COVID-19,” the Kano Ministry of Health Twitter Handle confirmed.
