COVID-19: Police insist on adherence to guidelines in FCT

The Divisional Police Officer ( DPO)in charge of the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, CSP John Emega has tasked those offering essential services to properly identify themselves while on duty as well adhere to the laid down guidelines.

Emega stated this while on a patrol to enforce the directive of the Federal Government within the Central Business District of the Federal Captial Territory.

He appealed to residents of the FCT to comply with the curfew hours, especially individuals who are not permitted to move during the restricted hours to stay with members of their families at home.

The DPO appealed to members of the public more especially taxi and bus drivers to ensure commuters observe social distancing and put on face mask at all the time.

Emega reiterated commitment to arrest individuals who violate COVID 19 protocol even as he noted that voilators of the oder would be taken to mobile court to face sanction.

The DPO said the division under him would continue to safeguard government infrastructure and offices within his jurisdiction.

He appluaded the residents of the area for being law abiding citizens during the just concluded Sallah period just as he called on members of the public to always furnish police with useful information that could expose suspected criminal elements in the society.
