Cottage hospital appeals for equipment

Aku Cottage Hospital and Maternity, in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, has pleaded with donor agencies, Non Governmental Organizations(NGOs) and spirited individuals to donate medical equipment that will help the hospital in rendering adequate medicare to residents of the community.

The Matron of the hospital, Mrs Ego Ijeagulu, made the appeal while receiving medical equipment donated to the hospital by Nigeria Shippers Council (NSC), recently.

She lamented that lack of equipment in the hospital which was established in 1998 has made it inappropriate to render optimal services to the rural dwellers, most especially the maternity section of the hospital.

She extolled the management of NSC for coming to the aid of the hospital and passionately appealed to other donor agencies and public spirited individuals to assist the hospital in their own respective capacity.

Speaking, the Nigeria Shippers Council zonal director (South East), Rev. Winner Anayo, accompanied by some other management staff of the organization, said the donation was in line with NSC’s cultured Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of imparting on the pressing needs of the society, especially in the rural communities based on need assessment.
