ADJS old boys give award to Bishop Okeke as first old boy bishop

Old boys of Archdeacon Denis Junior Seminary (ADJS), Mbieri , Abuja chapter, have honoured Rt. Rev. Benjamin Chinedum Okeke, the Lord Bishop of Orlu Diocese with an award as the First Old Boy Bishop .

Speaking during the award dinner in Abuja which was held at the residence of HRH Eze Uche Egenti, Eze’s Palace Aco Estate, Abuja, the Chairman , ADJS Mbieri Abuja Chapter, Ven.Uche Anikwenwa said ,” this evening is not for long speeches but designed to celebrate and rejoice with our school mate and our spiritual father, Rt. Rev Benjamin Okeke.”

He said the school through the thick and thin of the teachers have produced men in various reputable professions and vocations, businessmen, capital industrialist, clergy and above all, our first Old Boy Bishop , the Rt. Rev Benjamin Okeke, Lord Bishop , Diocese of Orlu.

“We have come to honour our senior whom God has elevated to this amiable position,” he said.

According to him, Archdeacon Denis Junior Seminary (ADJS), Mbieri is the brainchild of His Grace, the Most. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Nwankiti, a former Bishop of Owerri , and the Archbishop of Province 2 , Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.

He said Nwakinti’s vision for the seminary as communicated in various fora included to establish Clergy Training College to equip clergy and produce future generations of committed Christians who would serve the church and society in the fear of God.

Responding , Rt. Rev. Benjamin Chinedu Okeke said,” as the first Bishop of ADJS I want to thank God for what He has done for us in the seminary . It was the Lord’s doing .”

“My fellow old boy I want to thank you for organizing this meeting. I want to tell you that the Lord has remembered us and He will continue to remember us,” he said.

Also, awards were given to the Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Okigwe South , the Most. Rev. Dr. David Onuoha , the Lord Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese , Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwike and the Proprietor of ADJS, Rt. Rev. Dr. Chukwuma Opara , Lord Bishop of Owerri Diocese.
