Controversy trails Rv Fr Mbaka’s suspension by Catholic Church

From Maurice Okafor, Enugu

Aftermath of last Wednesday, May 6, disorderliness between worshippers of Adoration ministries Enugu, founded by Rev.  Fr. Ejike Mbaka and the Catholic Bishop of Enugu diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, consequent upon part of Bishop Onaga’s house was destroyed by angry parishioners in search of Father Mbaka,, controversy now trails whether the fiery Rev Fr Mbaka is suspended by the Catholic Church or he merely tendered apology over the mishap.

The  AUTHORITY  checks in Enugu earlier yesterday got reports that the priest/founder of Adoration ministries apologized to the Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Most Revd Callistus Onaga, over the damage done to his residence by his parishioners, which according to him would have been avoided if Bishop Onaga has heeded to his advice.

Mbaka in his apology which went viral on several online media was reported to accept going on the one month re training cum prayer exercise, within the period of which activities at  his adoration ministries will be put on hold.

But neither report which emanated in the evening asserted that the fiery adoration ministries  spiritual director cum founder, Rev .Fr Ejike Mbaka has been suspended by Bishop Callistus Onaga. That Onaga equally ordered for his vacation from the Adoration ministries prayer ground at Umuchigbo Emene, even as activities of the ministry remain closed.

Attempts to get the Director of Communications, Catholic diocese of Enugu, Rev Fr. Ben Achi, to comment on the developments at the time of filing this report was not successful.
