The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has warned customers who are in the habit of connecting their households to multiple power sources to desist from such illegal act.

According to a Statement by the Company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Ibrahim Sani Shawai, “this act carries serious safety risks which is a threat to customers as well as KEDCO’s staff.

“While we are doing everything neccessary to stop the act through awareness creation, we equally want  customers to show understanding by refusing to engage in any act of sabotage on KEDCO’s facilities in order to ensure quality service delivery and safety.

“This act of multiple feeding to household being done by some customers has created a lot of problems in our network and has resulted to many transformer failures in recent time.

“Also, it has caused major supply challenges to many of our law abiding customers.

“While we are taking measures to ensure improvement in our network and power distribution, we charge all customers to cooperate with KEDCO by jettisoning those acts as anyone found would be dealt with according to the laws of the land.

“Safety of our staff and customers has been a priority to us in KEDCO and we will continue to invest more in our network to improve power distribution to our numerous customers.”
