JAMB unveils top 10 candidates in 2021 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled some details of candidates that scored highest marks in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, made this known  at the 2021 national policy meeting on admission which was held on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to a presentation by the JAMB boss obtained by The AUTHORITY no single candidate from the 19 states in the northern part of the country as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was among the top 10.

The highest mark of 358 out of 400 was scored by Monwuba Chibuzo Chibuikem, who hails from Lagos State.

Chibuikem is seeking admission into Electrical/Electronics Engineering Department of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

Qomarudeen Abdulwasiu Alabi from Osun State came second with 350 marks and he is pursuing admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to study Mathematics.

The third on the list is Adeogun Kehinde Oreoluwa from Ogun State. He scored 350 and intends to study Electrical/Electronics Engineering at the University of Lagos.

Ajayi Eberechukwu Isaiah graced the fourth spot with 349 marks. He hails from Lagos and he is seeking admission into Mechatronics Department of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

The only female on the top 10 list, Okarike Favour Kenneth,

clinched the fifth position with 348. She is seeking admission to the Mechanical engineering programme of Covenant University.

Others are Omonona Oluwamayokun Victor; 347 from Oyo State, who chose Covenant University – Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Owoeye Israel Oluwatimilehin;347 from Ekiti State – Computer Science, Covenant University, Ota.

Ehizogie Jeffrey Aidelogie; 347, Edo State, Mechatronics, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.

Ajeigbe Moyinoluwa Samuel; 346 from Ekiti State, Computer Engineering, Covenant University and Yakubu Abdulraheem Joshua from Edo State, 343, Chemical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The AUTHORITY reports that over 1.3 million candidates registered for the 2021 UTME.
