FCT Congress: APC chieftain wants security beef up

By Daniel Tyokua

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Tanko Abari has urged security agencies to adopt more measures that would usher in free and fair FCT state congress of the party.

He appealed to police and other security personnel to beam search light on the activities of APC in the nation’s capital, Abuja especially during today’s exercise, before and after the congress to produce new executives.

The chieftain called for change of the venue to a ground that will provide all the aspirants with peaceful atmosphere.

“The security agencies should do more for peace to prevail, the venue should be a neutral place where all aspirants will be free, using Gwagwalada as the venue is not healthy for the congress, there should be a situation whereby thugs’ activities and other security threat will be curbed”

Abari in a statement on Saturday, said peace and unity of the party should be the concern of all the FCT executives and not issues that will ignite violence during the party congress.

The party chieftain who is also the FCT permanent commissioner at Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, hinted that there are indications that some executives want to hijack the supposed peaceful congress.

According to him, members of the party should allow the will of people to prevail and not that of the few individuals.

End.
