Ebegba urges Jikwoyi residents to support security agencies

The Director-General, National Biosafety Management Agency, Dr. Rufus Ebegba has appealed to residents of Jikwoyi, Abuja Municipal Area Council to support the security agencies to make the community safe.


Speaking at the relocation ceremony of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jikwoyi division to it’s permanent site at Angwangede in Jikwoyi, he said the support was needed to curb criminality and insecurity in the area.


He said the security agencies alone can not tackle insecurity but with collaborative efforts from communities issue of criminality can be arrested.


He called on well meaning Nigerians to support the division by supplying them with equipments, armory and building bridge to avoid encroachment.


The Etsu of Jikwoyi HRH, Rev Bawa Jetta expressed gratitude to the DG and promise that his community will support the division in every way possible to reduce insecurity in the area.


The traditional ruler said that the safety of every one is a  top priority, even as he requested for more manpower to aid the activities of the NSCDC.

The FCT Police command, Mr Peter Maigari promised to partner NSCDC in addressing the issue of insecurity and criminality in jikwoyi.


The Divisional Commandant commended the the DG, the Etsu of Jikwoyi and every stakeholder present while assuring of her division’s commitment to defend the defenseless.


Highlight of the day was the commissioning of the division by the chairman steering commitee, Mr Shittu Adamu.
