FCTA vows to capture rural dwellers in community development

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has vowed to do more in capturing rural dwellers in projects that would develop their communities.


Secretary Area Council Services Secretariat, Ibrahim Dantsoho stated this on Monday while receiving briefings  from heads of department and other senior officials of the secretariat. 


He said the secretariat under his watch would also carry strategic stakeholders  along in scheme of developmental projects across the sixty-two political wards of the territory.


Dantsoho explained that developing communities in Abuja can only be achieved through involvement of those that the projects will have direct bearing on them.


He said, “We will continue to foster good relationship between key actors that matter in developing the Federal Capital Territory especially the Area Councils, this will help us bring out better developmental programmes” 


On poverty reduction in communities, the secretary explained that traditional rulers will be fully involved in initiating projects that will add value to communities.
“FCT Area Council Services Secretariat will work closely with the traditional institutions and Council chairmen to achieve all government programmes and policies.


“We are going to run all an inclusive government that will enhance developmental projects of the administration, our primary health care will be revamped to meet up with the medical needs of the rural dwellers” he said.


Dantsoho disclosed that the secretariat will also marshal out areas that will bring about construction of toilets across the sixty-two political wards of the Federal Capital Territory.
