Fintiri appoints veteran Journalst, broadcaster 40 Others as LGA Caretaker C’ttee Chair

Veteran Journalists, former vice chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council and newly turbaned mouth peace of Adamawa Emirate council “Kaakaakey” Adamawa, Professor Abbah Tahir  and Ms Mary Frank a season Broadcaster has been appointed as the chairman and vice chairperson caretaker committee in Adamawa.

Abbah Tahir was Appointed as the chairman  for Yola South local while Mary Frank was Appointed as the vice chairperson for Numan local government area.

A statement by Humwashi Wonosikou, Press Secretary to governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made available to Newsmen in Yola said the newly appointed Officers will be sworn in Thursday this week.

Among those Appointed was a one time House of Representative member, Mrs Talatu Yohanna, she was Appointed as the chairperson for Lamurade Local government area.

The tenure of the immediate past chairmen of local governments in Adamawa lapsed on December 8, 2021.

Meanwhile, the state independent electoral commission  has given a 90 days notice for the conduct election into LGAs in the state  after stating that  dearth of funds and other constraints as reasons for not conducting the election which  necessitated  the appointment of caretaker chairmen.

All the appointees will lead the various LGAs in the state for three months.

Governor Fintiri also congratulated the appointees for making the list and appealed to them to be good ambassadors of the People’s Democratic Party and their various councils by justifying the confidence reposed in them.
