FCTA asks AEPB officials to improve on sanitation

The Permanent Secretary  Federal Capital Territory Administration(FCTA), Mr. Olusade Adesola has called on the officials of the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) to improve on sanitation exercise in the territory.
He asked them to step up their efforts with a view to ensure that sanitary and environmental conditions of the nation’s capital is given the desired attention.


The Permanent Secretary gave the charge during an emergency meeting with the management staff of the Board in Abuja.


Adesola through a statement on Wednesday issued by his press secretary Tony Odey, urged staff of the board to change their approach in terms of its management of the city’ sanitary conditions.


He also decried the low revenue profile and the increasing debts owed to the Board, but  told the staff to be up and doing.  

The Permanent Secretary who hinted that the Administration is ready to support the Board to achieve its goals and objectives, warned that it will not tolerate any act of incompetence by any staff.

He further disclosed that already all disagreements concerning revenue collection between Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and the FCT Administration had been  resolved.  

Adesola equally used the opportunity to call on all Government Agencies, Estates, Private Organizations and individuals enjoying services being rendered by the Abuja Environmental Protection Board to pay their bills forthwith to enable the Board function well.


Responding on behalf of the  management and staff of the Board, the outgoing Director of Abuja Environmental Protection Board, Mr. Kaka Ali pledged the support of the staff in charting a new course for the Board.
